May Cookie Variety Box

These were so delicious and will be ordering again.

[For context, the cookies spent a week traveling from origin to destination (a few days longer than originally expected), so they may not have been as fresh as intended, which could have affected my experience.] I'll start by saying that a lot of time and care clearly went into these cookies. The personalized note was a nice touch, and the overall presentation was fantastic. There are instructions on how to freshen up the cookies upon arrival, and I was blown away with how much they do come back to life.

I was most eager to try the pistachio white chocolate cookies, and I was not disappointed. The pistachio cookie is really complex, buttery, and earthy. I called it a "grown-up" cookie because it has layers of complexity that work really well together. It's a knockout 5 out of 5, for sure.

The oatmeal chocolate chip, for me, was not as harmonious. I don't think the cinnamon works here, though I can imagine someone recalling memories of morning oatmeal with cinnamon and chocolate. I'd say apple cinnamon oatmeal would have blended together better; even raisins instead of chocolate would have been more cohesive. I really enjoy cinnamon, but it just clashed with the other flavors in this one---2 out of 5.

The cosmic brownie cookie lives up to its name---it tastes like a well-baked brownie, with sprinkles for fun. The kids enjoyed that one a lot. I like a good brownie too, and I get that this is meant to recapture the nostalgia of cosmic brownies, but after trying the first two, this one just felt a bit "boring." This is not a knock on the quality by any means; I just think it was a good brownie, similar to what my dear wife makes at home. Considering these are pricier "high-end" cookies, I just wanted a little more to it. A 3 out of 5 on this one.

So, this really was a mixed bag of experiences. The distance doesn't help, and some of the flavor combinations fell flat for me. But if I lived closer by, I'd be swimming in those pistachio cookies. :)

The oatmeal chocolate chip was my favorite! However, I didn’t too much care for the chocolate brownie and the pistachio was just ok. The packaging was great and everything arrived perfectly and on time. Would order again, but I’d probably stick with the classic package.
